Actress and painter Katarina Kaja Žutić is finalizing preparations for the exhibition “Persephone’s Garden”, where she will display her paintings inspired by nature and life, as well as their destruction. Katarina Žutić will, for the first time in Belgrade, exhibit her paintings in mixed media at Dorćol Platz, from March 19 to April 8. The exhibition is named “Persephone’s Garden”. The accompanying program includes a DJ set by Nemanja Aćimović, a professional guided tour of the exhibition, painting pomegranates, and a discussion with the audience.
At the “Persephone’s Garden” exhibition, which Katarina will open on March 19 at 6 PM at Dorćol Platz, nature is the central theme.
“Persephone’s Garden focuses more on people’s careless attitude towards nature, with a focus on trees. Often from those hands, which are oversized, a tree grows, a shoot arises, or some white death is oozing, plunging into the underworld. I think that trees are the connection between our ancestors and us. We are buried in the earth, and it grows from the earth.” – Highlighted Katarina
Persephone is a dual goddess, also known as Kora. She is the queen of the Underworld, but also the goddess of vegetation, who brings spring and rich sowings to the world. She is the inspiration for Katarina Žutić’s solo exhibition of paintings, which awaits us at the eighth Kontakt – conference, showcase, and festival. The exhibition lasts until April 8.
