Directly from Bristol to the Kontakt conference, showcase, and festival comes the founder of Massive Attack, the pioneer of the trip-hop genre – DADDY G!
At the opening of the eighth Kontakt on March 21, 2024, Daddy G will demonstrate why he is considered one of the main reformers of contemporary music with his DJ set at Dorćol Platz.
Grant Marshall, Daddy G’s real name, became a symbol of the Bristol music scene in the early ’80s as part of The Wild Bunch sound system, where he met the two other future members of Massive Attack. The same group included Robert del Naja and Andrew Vowles. A true pop culture history, which turned the global music world upside down, occurred after The Wild Bunch disbanded, when this trio (Del Naja, Vowles, and Marshall) formed Massive Attack.
Daddy G rarely performs, especially in recent years, and even less so in our region. Thanks to a collaboration between the British Council and Kontakt, Daddy G’s exclusive presence and set will enhance the most important musical conference’s showcase program, an event that will be remembered by both Belgrade and the region.
Tickets priced at 1,500 dinars are available at Ticket Vision sales points, as well as at tickets.rs
