Malcolm has spent most of his working life absorbed in the world of live music promotions, club night, events and festivals. He has travelled to most parts of the world attending music conferences, showcases and festivals.

He started promoting and DJing in Bristol in the early 80s, often putting on 2-3 gigs per week. He has always been on the creative side of events, not just booking the bands but hands on with the creative and aphetic of the event/gig.

He has worked closely with Gumball 3000 organising some of their rally launches and also was the project Manager for the building of Dismaland (Banksy exhibition in Weston Muper mare 2015).

He started promoting and programming at Glastonbury festival in 1986. He was the joint founder of the Jazz-world stage and programmed this stage until 2007 when Amy Winehouse and the Marley brothers (Stephan and Damian) headlined. He started the Dance tent on the other side of the festival in 1995 and continued to develop and grow this area into the dance village in 2005 and then a further transformation to its current name of Silver Hayes in 2013. Malcolm Stepped aside from the management of Silver Hayes in 2019.

He currently owns and is hands-on with an iconic pub/bar in Bristol called the Star and Garter. Here, he enjoys the intimacy of running a small venue and continuing to promote DJs and club nights as well as occasional live music events in the adjacent park.
