Branko is a publicist, producer, and multimedia professional, born in 1961 in Osijek. He is the author of numerous scientific and journalistic texts in scientific journals, anthologies, newspapers, and publications.
He published his first text in Glas Slavonije in 1978. During the 1980s, he worked at HRT Radio Osijek and Studio Osijek and was the editor-in-chief of the youth magazine “TEN” and “Osječki tjednik.” In the 1990s, he worked as a freelance journalist, publishing articles on pop culture, rock music, and contemporary art in various publications.
He is the founder and leader of the group RODERICK (1983), which has been active since the 1990s under the name RODERICK NOVY (6 solo albums, 11 music videos, and 4 compilations). He is the author of lyrics, music, and performances, as well as scripts for the group’s music videos. His most famous performance is “Love Song” (2001) with the bard of the Croatian art scene, Ivan Kožarić.
He earned a master’s degree in cultural sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana. He is a professional collaborator of the “Enciklopedije hrvatske pop i rock glazbe” (1994). He has published authorial books: “Moj život je novi val,” “Pop kalčr,” and “Eros, laži pop/rock pjesme,” and soon he will release an Anthology of Rock Poetry in collaboration with T. Brlek. He is the conceptual author of multimedia books “Umjetnost uvijek izmiče!” with Ivan Kožarić and “Odvedi me do ruba šume.”
He is the author of a series of multimedia exhibitions in the field of pop culture, including the exhibition of album covers (2006), which toured the region, and the multimedia exhibition “OSAMDESETE” (2015), the most visited in the history of the Croatian Association of Artists. He conceived the multimedia program “LJETO U MSU” from 2014 to the present.
On the 50th anniversary of the most influential Croatian art group GORGON, he founded the multimedia group GORGONA NOVA, with which he performs throughout Europe, and soon they will release a multimedia booklet with a double CD/DVD. He is the president of the Croatian Society for Popular Culture.
