Ana Vučković Denčić was born on November 16, 1984, in Belgrade. She completed her studies in dramaturgy at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, followed by master’s studies in filmology at the same faculty, focusing on film style. She is a journalist at Radio Beograd 2, where she prepares and hosts several shows dedicated to film and popular culture. She has written for numerous online portals and newspapers, including City Magazine and Marie Claire, and currently contributes to the Velike priče portal. Ana has published five books: “Epoha lipsa juče,” “Lust ‘n’ Dust,” “Plišani soliter,” “Surfing Serbia,” and “Yugoslav.”
Her stories have been included in anthologies by various authors, such as Krik!, Kraljica Lir i njena deca, and her poems in the 33rd issue of Rukopisi, a collection of poetry and short prose by young writers from the former Yugoslavia. Her books have twice been shortlisted for the NIN Award and once nominated for the Isidora Sekulić Award. Her works have been translated into English, Macedonian, German, Maltese, and Greek. She was awarded the Elle Style Award for Literature in 2020. Her new book is currently in preparation.
